Itinerary

Day 1 – Origin Country –  Bangkok
Departure from origin Country with a scheduled flight to Bangkok (with stopover and overnight on board).

Day 2 – Bangkok
Arrival in Bangkok, meet and greet at the airport, and transfer to the hotel. Check-in to the reserved rooms and free time at leisure to rest or explore the surroundings. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 3 – Bangkok
After breakfast, the day begins with a guided visit to the Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, the most sacred Buddhist temple in Thailand. Lunch is included at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, the tour continues with visits to the city’s main temples: Wat Pho, the oldest Buddhist monastery in Bangkok, famous for housing the giant Reclining Buddha and for being home to the country’s first traditional Thai massage school; Wat Arun, known as the “Temple of Dawn,” located on the opposite bank of the Chao Phraya River and recognizable by its towering pagoda; and finally Wat Traimit, which contains the impressive statue of the Golden Buddha — the largest solid gold statue in the world. Return to the hotel in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 4 – Bangkok
After breakfast, departure for the fascinating Maeklong Railway Market, where trains pass directly through the market stalls, forcing vendors to quickly fold and unfold their awnings with every passing train. The excursion continues to the famous Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, the most animated in Thailand. Here, you’ll enjoy a short cruise along the canals aboard a typical long-tail boat, before reaching the bustling market where local farmers sell their products directly from their boats. Lunch is served at a local restaurant, followed by a visit to Nakhon Pathom, home to one of the tallest stupas in the world. Return to Bangkok for dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 5 – Bangkok – Ayutthaya – Sukhothai
After breakfast, departure for Ayutthaya, the ancient capital of the Kingdom of Siam. The visit includes the main temples of the city: Wat Chai Wattanaram, characterized by its group of monumental “Phrangs” (Khmer-style towers); Wat Sri Samphet, once part of the Royal Palace and known for its three enormous chedis; and Wat Mongkhon Bophit, housing a gigantic seated Buddha statue. The tour continues with Wat Mahathat, famous for the iconic image of a Buddha’s face entwined in the roots of a tree. Lunch is served at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, the journey proceeds through the lush province of Kamphaeng Phet, known for its fruit plantations, before reaching Sukhothai in the evening. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 6 – Sukhothai – Phrae – Phayao
After breakfast, enjoy a pleasant and relaxing bicycle ride through the historical park of Sukhothai, exploring the ancient ruins of Thailand’s first capital. For those who prefer not to cycle, electric trams are available within the park. Outside the park walls, continue by bicycle through the city’s old quarters. Later in the morning, departure for Phrae, a charming town known for its elegant wooden mansions such as Khum Vongburi, now a museum. Continue with a visit to a local village specialized in producing “Mor Hom,” the traditional indigo-blue shirts worn in northern Thailand’s countryside. Lunch is served at a local restaurant before continuing to Phayao, a quiet lakeside town surrounded by hills. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 7 – Phayao – Chiang Rai
After breakfast, early departure for the lakeside pier to witness the ritual offering to novice monks (Taak Bat). Participants may, if they wish, purchase a small “Sangkatan” offering on-site (not included). Aboard small rowboats used by local fishermen, reach a tiny island in the lake, home to the ancient Buddha statue of Tilok Aram. Return to the hotel for breakfast on the panoramic terrace, then depart for Chiang Rai. Along the way, visit the famous White Temple (Wat Rong Khun), an extraordinary fusion of modern and traditional Thai architecture. Continue to the colorful Mae Salong Nai market, where it is possible to meet people from various ethnic minorities still wearing their traditional attire. From here, head to a charming farmstay for a cooking show using fresh local ingredients. The farm is nestled among rice paddies and hills, offering an authentic glimpse into northern Thai rural life. In the afternoon, continue to the Golden Triangle, the meeting point of the Mekong and Ruak rivers, once the heart of the opium trade. Visit the local museum dedicated to the history of opium cultivation, and enjoy a panoramic view from the hilltop temple of Phrathat Doi Pu Khao. Return to Chiang Rai for dinner and overnight.

Day 8 – Chiang Rai – Chiang Mai
After breakfast, departure for Chiang Mai. En route, visit Bo Sang village, renowned for its artisanal crafts and traditional silk production. In the afternoon, enjoy a walking tour through the historic center of Chiang Mai, a fascinating maze of narrow streets lined with traditional Lanna-style houses and ancient Theravada temples. Highlights include the Three Kings Monument, Wat Inthakhin Sadue Muang (which once housed the city’s foundation stone), and Wat Chedi Luang, home to the largest pagoda in the entire Lanna region. In the late afternoon, ascend Doi Suthep Mountain to visit the sacred Wat Phra That Doi Suthep temple, one of Thailand’s most revered shrines. According to legend, a mythical white elephant carrying a relic of the Buddha chose this very site for the temple’s construction. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 9 – Chiang Mai
Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to the airport for the return flight to origin Country.
Note: depending on flight schedules, the return may be on the evening of the 8th day, with overnight onboard and arrival at origin Country the following morning.
